Melisa Sözen was born in Istanbul. Starting her acting career at a young age, Sözen has achieved great success in Turkish cinema and television, appearing in numerous films and TV series.
In 2014, Sözen gained international attention and acclaim for her outstanding performance in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Palme D’or winning film ”Winter Sleep”.
Melisa Sözen achieved a significant success by receiving both the Best Actress awards from the Theatre Critics Association for her play "Knot of the Heart" and the Film Critics Association for her role in “Winter Sleep” in the same year.
Following the series “Le Bureau des Légendes” by Eric Rochant, Sözen continued her international career with the film “Damien Veux Changer Le Monde”.
Most recently, Sözen starred in Netflix's highly successful worldwide series "Who Were We Running From” and received great praise from the audience for her performance.
Sözen has also served as a jury member at prestigious festivals such as CanneSeries, Sarajevo Film Festival and Guanajuato International Film Festival.
